Holiday Market Opens in Plumas Lake, Bringing the Community Its First Full-Service Grocery Store
Plumas Lake residents can now do a full grocery run close to home. Holiday Market opened in August 2026 off River Oaks Boulevard, bringing fresh produce, natural and organic options, and a full-service deli to the growing community.
The 30,000-square-foot store was developed by local builder Hilbers, with local partners including Nordic. It adds 70+ jobs and is one of the most significant commercial investments in Plumas Lake since development began in the early 2000s. Holiday Market is a regional chain with locations in smaller Northern California communities, and its parent company, North State Grocery, is employee-owned.
Plumas Lake has been planned for commercial growth through the Plumas Lake Specific Plan, and the community already includes Walgreens and a Sutter Health medical plaza. Holiday Market is the first of what Yuba County expects to be many commercial investments to come.
Yuba County worked with Hilbers from design review through building permits, inspections, and final occupancy. County staff coordinated across departments and stayed in regular contact with the Hilbers project team to spot issues early and keep the project moving.
Holiday Market anchors the future River Oaks Shopping Center. Next up is an 8,000-square-foot commercial shell building, with groundbreaking expected in fall 2026.
