Just Getting Started?

File your Fictitious Business Name and determine if you need a Business License (unincorporated County). The City of Marysville and Wheatland require all businesses to obtain a license.

Planning

Behind that green field or new window shop you’re eyeing, there is an underlying land use designation determined by the Yuba County Development Code. Our Planning team is here to help you identify how the land is zoned, and what types of business activities would be possible!

Building

Once you’ve found your dream location, you may want to build new or make tenant improvements, and need to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy to begin operations. Many roads lead to a Certificate of Occupancy - we are here to help you determine which process and submittal documents are required for your unique goals.

Public Works

If you are planning to make changes to the mapped or physical land at your business location, you may need additional permits from Public Works. Our work includes parcel maps, records of survey, grading and encroachment permits. Our team also provides early consultation about development in FEMA designated floodplains; including recommendations on base flood elevations, special building standards, flood insurance issues, and development options.

Environmental Health

Depending on your business operations, you may be required to obtain a permit from Yuba County Environmental Health, including but not limited to gas stations, maintaining or disposing hazardous waste, medical waste, food services, tattoo and massage services.
